Dr Ashvin holds the position of Honorary Club Surgeon to Birmingham City Football Club, a position he is particularly proud of having studied for his MSC in Trauma in the City in 1997 and being a keen sportsman himself.

Injuries to the knee are an occupational hazard to professional footballers with the joint coming under long-term strain from the intensities of busy training and playing schedules.

Dr Ashvin has dedicated his career to provide excellent outcomes for people with injuries affecting the shoulder and knee joints, including high profile sporting professionals.

Martin O'Connor, a Birmingham City midfielder, received a surgical knee arthroscopy by Dr Ashvin that enabled him to extend his playing career for a further four years.
